High shmigh, says Sony
Sony chairman Howard Stringer spoke of the PS3's price at a recent press conference, and not surprisingly, still thinks the console will win the next-gen war against Wii and the 360.
"The price of the PS3 is high," he acknowledged to the press, "but you're paying for potential." Stringer is fully aware of the potential pitfalls by employing Blu-ray technology with a higher price tag. "Obviously, it's a higher-risk strategy -- as all new inventions are -- but if the PS3 lives up to its total potential, then I don't think anyone will be worried about Nintendo or Xbox's cheaper price."
