PS3 is helping propel Blu-ray to the top dog status in the high def race with HD-DVD, even in developing markets.
Markets such as Hong Kong, Singapore, Taiwan, Eastern Europe, South Africa and the Middle East all have seen an upsurge of Blu-ray disc sales. Sony is reporting that since April, sales of Blu-ray discs in the aforementioned regions have accounted for a full 10% of SPHE's total business in the areas. The company saw a 21% increase in BD orders across the month of June alone.
