Sony has been playing it coy about the $100 PS3 price cut, saying with Sony Prez Chubachi saying "We have no immediate plans as of now" and that any price cut "is a matter" for subsidiary Sony Computer Entertainment Inc."
Well, coy is one word for it, at least. The website Joystiq has received confirmation of $499 PS3s on sale in at least some Target stores. Actual receipts have been seen proving that the $499 PlayStation 3 is no myth.
